Not financial advice
Sorted is a planning tool. Its figures are calculations based on what you enter. They are not financial, tax or legal advice.
You are responsible for your keys and backups
Your encryption keys are stored on your device only, and we don't hold a copy. If you lose your device, clear your data, or lose both your PIN and recovery code, we may not be able to recover your data.
1. Acceptance
These Terms apply to the Sorted mobile app and the website at sortednow.app (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use it. You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live.
2. The Service and beta status
Sorted helps you plan sinking funds and monthly obligations. It is in beta. Features may change, break or be removed, and the Service is provided "as is" and "as available".
3. Not financial advice
Sorted is not a bank, and it doesn't move money or make payments. It does not connect to your bank accounts. All amounts, dates and statuses come from you. Allocation figures are calculations from those inputs, and currency is shown for display only, with no conversion.
You are responsible for paying your bills on time and for your own financial decisions.
4. Your account, PIN, recovery code and backups
- Keep your sign-in details, PIN and recovery code safe, and don't share them. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Your encryption keys are kept on your device only. If you lose the device, clear your data, or lose both your PIN and recovery code, your data, including an existing backup, may not be recoverable.
- Backup is optional and goes to your own Google Drive. Restoring a backup replaces the funds and transactions on your device with the backup's contents. The most recent restore wins, so back up before you restore.
- Backups currently include funds and transactions only, not your settings. You should keep your own record of anything you can't afford to lose.
5. Google services
Sign-in, backup and the optional Google Sheets export use Google services under your own Google account, and Google's terms apply to them. The Sheets export is not encrypted, so turn it on only if you're comfortable with that. Deleting your Sorted account does not delete files in your Google Drive. You manage those yourself.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service unlawfully or to harm others;
- interfere with or try to disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
- try to access accounts or data that aren't yours;
- copy, reverse engineer or resell the Service, except where the law allows it.
7. Pricing
Sorted is currently free to use during beta. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you before they apply. Paid terms would be published separately.
8. Intellectual property
Sorted, including its design, code and branding, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own personal budgeting. You keep ownership of the data you enter.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using Sorted at any time. In the app you can use Sign Out & Clear Data or Delete Account. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms or if the law requires it.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. That includes lost data, missed payments and late fees.
Where liability can't be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the previous 12 months, or RM100 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under law that can't be excluded.
11. Changes and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and disputes go to the courts of Malaysia.
We may update these Terms. If you keep using the Service after an update, you accept the new version. The "Last Updated" date above shows the latest one.
